BioBlue (SR) is the very first supplement of its kind, consisting of a 50/50 blend of methylene blue and leucomethylene blue that provides the best of both worlds and delivers a Sustained Release of the mitochondrial-boosting properties of these blue molecules.

Methylene blue (MB) and leucomethylene blue (leucoMB) provide similar powerful benefits to mitochondrial function, which is quickly becoming known as the foundation and root level of all health. The mitochondria produce almost all of the energy in our body and, from a bioenergetic perspective, the more energy you have per cell = the healthier and more vitality you have. In essence, mitochondrial health is our modern day Fountain of Youth.

With that being said, MB and leucoMB have their own distinct advantages from one another. For one, methylene blue is a much darker pigment (see the picture  below demonstrating the drastic color differences of their respective powders) that lends itself to more powerful photodynamic benefits when utilized in combination with red light therapy. It is also much more fiscally friendly compared to leucoMB. However, MB takes longer to contribute its benefits, as it has to be endogenously broken down and reduced into leucoMB before it can be readily utilized. Some research indicates that peak plasma concentrations of MB are around 1.5 - 2 hours post-ingestion.

On the other hand, leucoMB has its own set of benefits. For one, since it is the reduced version of MB, it does not have to go through any internal processes in the body and is instantly bioavailable and ready to work as the powerful antioxidant it is. Also, since it is a reduced version of MB, it has even more electrons to donate (meaning it is an even more powerful antioxidant when compared to MB). The only downsides of leucoMB are that it does not provide the same photodynamic benefits as MB, given that it is not as dark of a pigment, and it is more costly.
